The first BIIF cheer competition of the season was held Monday at Kamehameha Schools – Hawai‘i.

The event saw five all-girl teams and three coed teams compete in their respective divisions.

Waiakea HS’ all-girl squad finished in a close first ahead of KSH, scoring 30.783 with no deductions to edge KSH’s 28.850. Kealakehe HS placed third, scoring 23.550 — trailed by Honoka‘a HS (20.233) and Pahoa HS (12.000).

Hilo HS dominated the coed division, scoring 33.900 with no deductions. Runner-up was Kea‘au HS (22.100) and Konawaena HS (18.750) placed third.

This was the first of two regular season meets slated for this fall, with the next set for Tuesday (Oct. 17) at Kealakehe HS.

The BIIF championship is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 24 at Konawaena.
